Biographical Information

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, raised in New Jersey, Jonathan received his bachelor’s degree from Loyola College in Maryland.  Impressed by his one-year study abroad at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, he decided to return there for his master’s degree in philosophy, but not before joining his wife in Japan for two years teaching English to experience her world for a short time.  While in Belgium, Jonathan and Eri were blessed with the birth of their daughter Mizuki.  After the completion of his masters, Jonathan and family all moved to Denton for the PhD program at the University of North Texas.  Jonathan conducts research in environmental philosophy and ethics, interested in the proper role of human beings within the natural environment, and different cultural understandings of that role.  His wife works as a Montessori teacher, where his daughter is currently a student.
