Introduction
to

for Environmental Scientists and Environmental Professionals

A workshop on environmental ethics for environmental scientists and environmental professionals will be held at the University of North Texas from 18 to 20 September 1998. It will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday and conclude at 12:00 noon Sunday. It is sponsored by the Center for Environmental Philosophy and the UNT Environmental Science Program.

Workshop leaders include Eugene C. Hargrove, editor of the journal Environmental Ethics and author of Foundations of Environmental Ethics, Bryan G. Norton of the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech, author of Toward Unity among Environmentalists, Ricardo Rozzi of the University of Connecticut's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Institute of Ecological Research Chiloe, and Steve Windhager, President of the Texas Society for Ecological Restoration.

The registration fee is $150 and includes two meals and an evening reception. The program will be held on the University of North Texas campus in the new Environmental Education, Science and Technology Building.

The workshop will focus on discussion and will be shaped to meet the specific needs and interests of the participants. See the program schedule. Field trips to Blacklands Prairie, Post Oak Eastern Cross Timbers, or Grand Prairie are available upon request before and after the workshop in cooperation with the UNT Environmental Science Program.
